ABOUT PM SHRI KV NO.1, VASCO-DA-GAMA, GOA
PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 (formerly Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1), Vasco Da Gama, was established in 1971 under the Defence Sector (Navy) in the picturesque surroundings of Varunapuri Campus of INS Hansa, District – Murmugao in the state of Goa. Since its inception, it has been a premier institute of quality education in the locality. Today, the Vidyalaya is a three-section school that runs classes from I to XII, offering Science and Commerce streams at the Senior Secondary Level. The Vidyalaya is well-furnished with spacious and well-ventilated classrooms (38), air-conditioned and hi-tech computer labs (3), an Audio-Visual room, a Resource Room at the Primary Level, a Guidance & Counselling Cell, and a bustling, well-stocked library with over 15,000 books on a plethora of subjects and themes.
The Primary section of the Vidyalaya is fully digitalized with an interactive panel in each classroom that enhances the teaching and learning experience for our students. The Secondary level is also undergoing this transformation, with 60% of the work already completed. The Art & Music rooms nurture the creative minds of our students, setting the stage for future creators and performers. The Vidyalaya has three well-equipped labs (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology), a Junior Science lab, and an Atal Tinkering Lab where students develop scientific temper at an early age and draw inspiration for innovation and skill development.
Apart from academics, the Vidyalaya equally values the spirit of sports and athletics by providing regular coaching and practice in Football, Badminton, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Kho-Kho, and more. The school campus is extensive, featuring a Football ground, a Volleyball court, a Basketball court, and an Indoor Badminton court. The highlight of the campus is the play area for our playful and enthusiastic Primary students.
